Basic Manners -Designed to make your dog a better

Intermediate Class
Strengthen response to basic
commands by adding new variations to training. Sharpen up real life skills with
distractions. Focuses on qualifying for the American Kennel
Club's Canine Good Citizens Test. All students may take the CGC test
that follows the class for free.

Spring Canine Good Citizen Test: May 14

A limited number of dogs not taking the
Intermediate Class will be allowed to take the test. However, no walk-in
allowed - you must register at least one week prior to test date.

TEST REQUIREMENTS:
..."Dogs
should wear well-fitting buckle or slip collars (including martingales) made of
leather, fabric, or chain. Special training equipment such as harnesses, pinch
collars and head collars are not permitted. The leash should be made of either
leather or fabric..."

Beginner Rally
Class
During this six-week course the dog and handler will begin learning how to do a basic heel with turns. Every week a selection of AKC Novice & APDT Level 1 Rally exercises will be introduced and practiced. All dogs with basic training are invited. Dogs should be familiar with basic obedience commands including loose leash walking, sit, down, stand, stay and fronts & finishes. This class, like the sport itself, is designed to serve as a bridge for teams who already have a Canine Good Citizens Certificate (or have trained their dog to at least that level) & want to learn the specifics of Rally & brush up their performance in preparation of competition.

Intermediate Rally Class
During this six-week course a selection of AKC Advanced & APDT Level 2 Rally exercises will be introduced and practiced.

WARNING: Classes are limited to 12. To assure a
space in the class, mail your registration form, verification of shots and
check made out to D.O.T.C as soon as possible. Dogs must be pre-registered.
Registrations by phone or walk-in are by exception only.
All students should read "DOTC's Orientation" before the first class.
Any
dog deemed dog or people aggressive will be referred to a private instructor.
